A few of the more unique parameters available are:


  1. 1)Market Action Index. This is an Altos Research proprietary algorithm which measures and compares several statistics in order to determine the balance of supply and demand in a market. A reading above 30 tends to indicate a Sellers Market, and a reading below 30 tends to indicate a Buyers Market.


  1. 2)Price Range Quartiles. These are 4 equally sized segments of the current properties. The top quartile represents the most expensive 25% of homes, while the bottom quartile represents the least expensive 25% of homes. It can be very revealing to watch how the different market segments behave.
